Understanding of sin
A sin that was committed in the
French Revolution was no easy access of food for the poor and the government
rose up the price of food. This has helped my understanding of sin as shows
that people didn’t care about the poor and want them to starve as they have no
importance in society, this shows that France was doing the wrong things.
Another sin that was committed in the French Revolution was disrespect. This has helped my understanding of sin because it shows that the French government and economy didn’t respect the vulnerable and this signifies that they did not protect or care the people and planet meaning that they are not obeying God.
The 3rd sin that was committed in the French Revolution was one of the 10 commandments. The commandment is Thou shall not murder. This helped my understanding of sin because it was committed when France was introduced to the guillotine and executing innocent people was a wrong doing.

The French Revolution violated the Catholic Teachings of Option for the poor and vulnerable because the government did not have any easy access for the peasants in the 3rd Estate. Especially in 1774 when the food prices rose up as there was terrible harvesting in wheat for bread, this caused The Flour war the following year. |
Participation
The French Revolution violated the Catholic Social Teachings of Participation because the principle means that everyone should have a say or an opinion in the economic and political life in their society but the government did not allow the 3rd estate to have an opinion and only allowed the 1st and 2nd Estates to have a say in the political life in society. |
Role of government
The
French Revolution respected the Catholic Social Teaching of Role of Government because the principle
states that the government should build common good and that is what they did.
France build a bigger economy but as a result it caused economy debt.
Although the French Revolution respected this Catholic Social teaching, it also violated it because the French Government built the guillotine to execute innocent people in the 3rd estate mostly the peasants by their opinions. |
Stewardship of Creation
The French Revolution violated the Catholic Social Teaching of Stewardship Creation because the principle of the teaching is to show respect for the creator by caring and protecting the people and the planet but the French society in 1789 did not, they did not show respect for their people in society and thus caused inequality and created |
